Subject: Supported (microphone!) external usb sound card?
Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2015 21:44:27 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <5614249B.3030204@yahoo.de> (raw)

Hey guys,

I bought the "ASUS Xonar U7" USB sound card about 2 years ago.
When i switched from "Windows" to "Linux Mint Cinnamon", i noticed that
ALSA wouldn't use the microphone in of my card.

So I tried another external sound card this time, the "Creative Sound
Blaster X-fi HD". Connected to my laptop (also computer) and having
updated my Linux Mint Cinnamon to the version 17.1, ALSA wouldn't use
the microphone in either!
Audio out (headphone) is working fine for both.

------

Is there ANY (decent) external (usb) sound card supported by ALSA
(headset AND microphone)?

Please notice that I am really not a specialist in Linux or ALSA.

Regards
Frank
