Subject: [stable 3.10] x86/asm/irq: Stop relying on magic JMP behavior for early_idt_handlers
Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2016 15:20:01 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <56C48191.1060704@suse.cz> (raw)
Hi,
please put:
commit 425be5679fd292a3c36cb1fe423086708a99f11a
Author: Andy Lutomirski <luto@kernel.org>
Date: Fri May 22 16:15:47 2015 -0700
x86/asm/irq: Stop relying on magic JMP behavior for early_idt_handlers
into 3.10. I cannot boot 3.10.* without that at all. I have:
$ gcc --version
gcc (SUSE Linux) 4.8.5
$ as --version
GNU assembler (GNU Binutils; devel:gcc / SLE-12) 2.26.20160125-238
You can cherry-pick e4037eb7c531a6687704ecf1b24c66ac25ad3ab6 from
stable-3.12 directly. It is a backport that applies cleanly as well to 3.10.
thanks,
