As I just learned from this discussion
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/267335/how-can-i-check-that-two-input-values-are-correct-in-a-bash-script
the -a and -o operators of test(1) are marked obsolescent:

Yet the Linux man pages don't contain a hint to that.
