dracut uses modules to include instructions and functions in initramfs. When the dump kernel(2nd kernel) is started, it needs to know what action it should take to dump the core. It also needs some infrastructure to support those actions. Dracut follows the kdumpbase script to build initramfs for the 2nd kernel.
