syzbot has tested the proposed patch but the reproducer is still triggering an issue:

 slab kmalloc-8k start ffff8881457ec000 pointer offset 1480 size 8192
list_del corruption. prev->next should be ffffc90003d8fb98, but was ffff8881457ec5c8. (prev=ffff8881457ec5c8)
