Is this really an uImage? The name of the file starts with zImage, so it looks confusing. Can you confirm?
How are you generating the uImage?
Assuming you are using MX31PDK Freescale BSP, you can do as follows:
cd rpm/BUILD/linux
make ARCH=arm uImage
(You need to have mkimage installed)
Which U-boot version are you using?
