Subject: turn blockdevice into flatfile - how?
Date: Sat, 29 Dec 2007 22:07:40 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <75693866@web.de> (raw)
Hello !
with tools like losetup or dmsetup/kpartx, i can turn a flatfile/imagefile or parts of that into a blockdevice.
but how can i do that in reverse ?
for example make 80gb harddisk /dev/sda appear as 80gb /tmp/flatfile ?
ChunkFS from http://chunkfs.florz.de/ comes close to what i need, but Fuse is slow and ChunkFS doesn`t have write support.
any hints ?
regards
roland
