Yup. On its own, this workaround is pretty useless.

I have a 4.19 backport [1] that needs some testing (I don't have access to
a TX2 at the moment). 4.14 is "interesting" to backport (weird and
wonderful dependencies), but I'm not sure 4.9 has any value for this
HW (did it ever run 4.9?).
