This will duplicate control in alsamixer - view ALL. Kernel controls have various suffixes ("Playback Volume", "Playback Switch", "Capture Volume", ...). These suffixes decides if mixer elemnts have or don't have capture flag. If there is no definition of dirrection ("Playback" or "Capture suffix) alsa-lib assumes global volume (has playback and capture). For me, best solution will be to add "Playback Volume" or "Playback Switch" suffix to kernel controls names.
