Subject: what does EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES have to do with licensing?
Date: Thu, 7 Aug 2014 07:53:57 -0400 (EDT)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <alpine.LFD.2.11.1408070750260.28007@localhost> (raw)

  yocto ref manual, ch 10:

"... if you are going to build an image using non-GPLv3 and similarly
licensed components, you must make the following changes in the
local.conf file before using the BitBake command to build the minimal
or base image:

     1. Comment out the EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES line
     2. Set INCOMPATIBLE_LICENSE = "GPL-3.0 LGPL-3.0 AGPL-3.0"

what does point 1. have to do with licensing? as i read it, the
default local.conf file you get with poky contains the line:

  EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES = "debug-tweaks"

i wasn't aware that debug-tweaks had any effect on licensing. can
anyone explain this?
