I've been contributing to various subsystems in the kernel since 2006. For the last couple of years I work on memory management, and recently on kexec handover and live update. I like cleaning up code: taking twenty architectures' slightly different ways of doing the same early-boot thing and turning them into one boring and well-tested one, at least after a few follow-up fixes. This taught me about the importance of less sexy but still critical infrastructure work, and I'd like to make sure it gets a voice when the TAB deals with outside entities. Working across different subsystems has also taught me to deal with different kinds of problems and people - device drivers, memory management, and architecture maintainers have different perspectives and different communication styles. That's the kind of experience I'd like to bring to the TAB. For several years I have an active role in organizing the Linux Plumbers Conference. LPC is about as close as the community gets to being in one room, and I'd like a seat on the TAB partly to help keep LPC successful. -- Sincerely yours, Mike.
