Did you swap CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE=y/n here? I.e.
CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE=y is bad, CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE=n is good?
If not, how exactly did you bisect with CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE=y ?
