Subject: [DPDK/DTS Bug 1983] dts: resolve driver bind error
Date: Tue, 11 Aug 2026 17:28:43 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-1983-3@http.bugs.dpdk.org/> (raw)
http://bugs.dpdk.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1983
Bug ID: 1983
Summary: dts: resolve driver bind error
Product: DPDK
Version: 26.07
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: DTS
Assignee: dev@dpdk.org
Reporter: abailey@iol.unh.edu
CC: juraj.linkes@pantheon.tech, probb@iol.unh.edu
Target Milestone: ---
If a system starts with the NICs bound to no drivers when DTS is run, DTS will
try to bind them back to no driver at the end of the test run. When DTS tries
to execute this behaviour, it run "dpdp-devbind.py -b [pci address]". This
causes DTS to crash since an empty string is not a valid driver. DTS should use
-u to unbind in this case to prevent crashing.
