Subject: [Bug 205173] New: When installing win 10 in a vm, the host system freezes
Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2019 17:10:42 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-205173-28872@https.bugzilla.kernel.org/> (raw)

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205173

            Bug ID: 205173
Summary: When installing win 10 in a vm, the host system
                    freezes
           Product: Virtualization
           Version: unspecified
    Kernel Version: 5.3.5-1
          Hardware: Intel
                OS: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: kvm
          Assignee: virtualization_kvm@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
          Reporter: patrick@notvads.ovh
        Regression: No

I wanted to install win 10 (1903) into a virtual maschine. After the first
reboot during the installation the host system freezed completely (Only
CAPS-Lock light blinks). Hard-Rebooted the System and booted up the Windows-VM.
Again freezed.
Hard-Reboot of Host-System, changed to Kernel 5.2.20-1, booted up the VM and I
could complete the installation.

I'm running Manjaro KDE on an Intel i3-3110m on the newest Patchlevel.
