Subject: [Bug 27387] New: nouveau crashes on GForce8200 (onboard) after start of xorg
Date: Wed, 31 Mar 2010 01:05:26 -0700 (PDT)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-27387-8800@http.bugs.freedesktop.org/> (raw)

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27387

Summary: nouveau crashes on GForce8200 (onboard) after start of
                    xorg
           Product: xorg
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: x86 (IA32)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/nouveau
        AssignedTo: nouveau-PD4FTy7X32lNgt0PjOBp9y5qC8QIuHrW@public.gmane.org
        ReportedBy: StefanTreuheit-S0/GAf8tV78@public.gmane.org
         QAContact: xorg-team-go0+a7rfsptAfugRpC6u6w@public.gmane.org

After boot I get a nice 1920x1080 console that seems to work well.
If I try to start the X server the server crashes (I get strange color pattern
on
the screen). Switching to a VT doesn't work (the VT keeps blank with the curser
on top left). Something similar happens if I try to start an application that
uses the FB device. I can stop the system if I login blind into an VT an run
halt.
I`m using an onboard Gforce8200 on a GA-M85M-US2H motherboard. Kernel module
nouveau driver and libdrm were downloaded on 29. ot March using git.
