Subject: [Bug 36892] New: page faults / general protection faults under heavy 3d load
Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2011 14:13:17 GMT [thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-36892-2300@https.bugzilla.kernel.org/> (raw)
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36892
Summary: page faults / general protection faults under heavy 3d
load
Product: Drivers
Version: 2.5
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Video(DRI - non Intel)
AssignedTo: drivers_video-dri@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
ReportedBy: niels_ole@salscheider-online.de
Regression: No
I get page faults or general protection faults under heavy 3d load (like
"sauerbraten", but sometimes switching windows with kwin is enough) in random
processes. I have a radeon hd 6870 and use r600g from mesa git.
This happens on 3.0-rc1 and 2.6.39. I am not sure if this is a problem with
older kernels, too, since I get gpu lockups with them.
I am not sure what could cause these problems, maybe some bug in gem / ttm?
