Subject: [Bug 38852] New: Oops in page_waitqueue during large copy to ext4 filesystem
Date: Wed, 6 Jul 2011 13:47:40 GMT	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-38852-13602@https.bugzilla.kernel.org/> (raw)

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38852

Summary: Oops in page_waitqueue during large copy to ext4
                    filesystem
           Product: File System
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 2.6.39.2 (Debian)
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: ext4
        AssignedTo: fs_ext4@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
        ReportedBy: jim@jtan.com
        Regression: No

This is with Debian's linux-image-2.6.39-2 package (version 2.6.39-3).

While copying data from a 7T ext3 filesystem to a 15T ext4 filesystem using
  rsync -av /old/ /new
and simultaneously running two copies of
  watch -n 0.25 df -m /old /new

I got the oops below.

Interestingly: the bad address (0001b90) and function (page_waitqueue) is the
same as in these oopses I found online:
