@Mike - could you try with the patch from bug #41059, which is at
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~eugeni/kernel? There is one patch at
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~eugeni/kernel/commit/?h=edid-i915 and another at
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~eugeni/kernel/commit/?h=edid-drm, they do the same
thing but on different levels. There is no need to apply them both at the same
time, just one at a time.
Could you check if any of those would fix - or improve - the issue for you?
