Subject: [Bug 43029] New: System won't boot using nouveau and Gainward Phantom adapters
Date: Thu, 17 Nov 2011 16:51:49 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-43029-8800@http.bugs.freedesktop.org/> (raw)

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43029

             Bug #: 43029
Summary: System won't boot using nouveau and Gainward Phantom
                    adapters
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: xorg
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/nouveau
        AssignedTo: nouveau-PD4FTy7X32lNgt0PjOBp9y5qC8QIuHrW@public.gmane.org
        ReportedBy: ryzion-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org
         QAContact: xorg-team-go0+a7rfsptAfugRpC6u6w@public.gmane.org

I've been testing with all major linux distros and Gainward GTX560TI/570
Phantom cards. The system hangs during boot if nouveau is enabled (I've
bypassed the problem by disabling the driver via grub and the nouveau.modeset=0
option). Other GTX570 cards work fine (tested EVGA and Gigabyte).

If there is any data I can provide in order to solve the problem, please
contact me.
