Date: Sat, 04 Jan 2014 19:01:35 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-68151-2300@https.bugzilla.kernel.org/> (raw)

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68151

            Bug ID: 68151
Summary: Backlight brightness change causes freeze (radeon with
                    KMS)
           Product: Drivers
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 3.13-rc6
          Hardware: x86-64
                OS: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: high
          Priority: P1
         Component: Video(DRI - non Intel)
          Assignee: drivers_video-dri@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
          Reporter: fabian@ritter-vogt.de
        Regression: No

Output of hwinfo

If I change the backlight brightness using the brightness keys on my keyboard,
sometimes the system freezes. SysRq doesn't work. Mobility radeon 5470 with KMS
enabled. I first noticed this when upgrading openSUSE from 12.3 (3.7.10) to
13.1 (3.11.6). I have to use "acpi_backlight=vendor" to disable acpi_video0,
which isn't working and has a higher priority than radeon_bl0.

Reproducible: Always

The hwinfo was created with the older, working kernel running.
