Subject: [Bug 88408] Black screen in Nuclear Dawn

Bug ID: 88408
Summary: Black screen in Nuclear Dawn
Product: Mesa
Version: 10.4
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Drivers/Gallium/radeonsi
Assignee: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: igi31@wp.pl
I am using open source drivers for my AMD Radeon 7850 graphics card for few
months now. I've tested many commercial linux games, but nuclear dawn seems to
be broken on gallium3d. Main menu of the game is visualised perfectly, but if
you are placed in Side Selection after the map has been loaded, there's a black
screen. Sound works and the game is definetly running, but all you can see is
map and nick's of other persons/bots. The map itself, including weapon,
textures and objects are not seen on any level of graphical settings. Please,
check it and confirm it that the problem persists on Open Source xf86-video-ati
video driver using Mesa3D. I've read article on Phoronix.com that the game is
running great under R600 Gallium3D driver and also Catalyst, but on radeonsi
driver there is a problem with black screen. I also need to mention that this
problem occurs in Wargame: European Escalation game on Steam. But there at
least i can play with some of the settings set to minimal like water and
shaders. This bug persists at least from mesa 10.2 to present.
