OK, I now see that I am dumb and I typed -pl instead of p1. I downloaded
mesa-10.5.4.tar.gz from ftp://ftp.freedesktop.org/pub/mesa/10.5.4/ and unpacked
it. I then tried to patch but it seems the file needed is missing. Sorry for my
noobness, I am trying to learn.
$ patch -p1 <
~/Downloads/0001-R600-SI-Add-VCC-as-an-implict-def-of-SI_KILL.patch
can't find file to patch at input line 16
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
