I untarred 1.3.1, did a ./configure, and then did

patch < lpt2.diff

Here's what I get:

        ralvy@libranet:~/dosemu-1.3.1-src$ patch < lpt2.diff
        (Stripping trailing CRs from patch.)
        can't find file to patch at input line 3
        Perhaps you should have used the -p or --strip option?
        The text leading up to this was:
