Thanks,

I have tried using these patches and I cannot build my kernel with them. I
get the following error when compile the kernel:

In file included from journal.c:42:
/usr/src/linux-2.4.27/include/linux/module.h:22:34: linux/modversions.h: No
such file or directory
make[3]: *** [journal.o] Error 1

make[1]: *** [_subdir_reiserfs] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.27/fs'
make: *** [_dir_fs] Error 2

I am running on gentoo linux with the vanilla kernel 2.4.27
