Hi Renzo,
I have verified the patch against the latest upstream Linux kernel and
ran the PowerPC selftests. No issues were observed after applying the patch.
Test Results:
* Without the patch: The "ptrace-syscall" test from
"selftests/powerpc" fails.
* With the patch: The "ptrace-syscall" test passes successfully.
Steps to Verify:
1. Clone the latest upstream Linux kernel and apply the patch.
2. Build the PowerPC selftests:
"cd tools/testing/selftests/powerpc"
"make -k"
Run the PowerPC selftests:
"cd tools/testing/selftests"
"make -C powerpc run_tests"
The patch resolves the observed test failure.
Thank you for the fix!
Regards,
Samir
