Description:
In most cases, left and right channels are swapped. But in approx. 5% cases
all OK. Looks like the matter is somewhere in byte alignment...

There is a patch for the codec init code

I have upgraded directory pci/au88x0 (I suppose it should be sufficient).
No changes.
