Thanks for responding.
That helps a lot.
I figured the man pages were seriously out of date,
so hopefully one of the pro's will update it.
I will try and add support for my device --
If I have success, I'll submit a pull request.
Good to know it will just "work out of the box".
Classic problem in embedded engineering is
you rarely have hardware available to conduct a control experiment,
so I didn't know what behaviour to expect.
