- alsa-lib so that can use alsa-utils (see below)
- alsa-utils so that you can set the mixer to sg more relevant
than muted sound...
- alsa-firmware if your sound cards need a firmware
- alsa-tools if your card need some specialized tool
alsa-oss may be needed to play with some odd applications or in order
to play while other apps are playing too on a card w/o hw mixer.
I don't know for alsa-plugins
