This patch,

    http://linus.bkbits.net:8080/linux-2.5/cset@4138a998OBJaigDdWZo3Y58C5Brqlg?nav=index.html|ChangeSet@-2w

makes my computer lock up or instantly reboot when I try to do a tv
recording with mplayer.

When running the crashing kernel, the last line in /var/log/messages
after the crash is:

Maybe there is more data that doesn't make it to the disk. I can try
again with a serial console if you think that would help.
