Subject: [LARTC] htb or imq limit at about 730Kbps
Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 14:49:35 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <marc-lartc-104566626425762@msgid-missing> (raw)
Hi!
Is there some hard (internal) speed limit for htb or imq?
The reason for this question is the following strange behavior:
Limiting the bandwidth at speeds up to about 730kbps works correct.
But increasing the limit has no effect, the speed remains at about
730kbps.
The ceil is bigger then rate, quantum 3000 ( the same with quantum
30000, :) ).
Two NatSemi DP83820 gigabit ethernet controllers, P4/2GHz.
IMQ is needed since users log in via pppoe, so I can't test which is the
bottleneck - htb or imq.
After removing the shaper the speed increases, so the problem seems to
be software, not hardware.
