Subject: [LARTC] wondershape -htb- download question
Date: Thu, 27 Mar 2003 18:55:25 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <marc-lartc-104879122001843@msgid-missing> (raw)

one thing im not sure for performance of wondershape script (htb) is:

you have three classes, each with a bit less available BW, and difrrent
prios...but for example:

you can have kazaa online, trafic would go to bulk class at the maximun
speed (0.9*$UPLINK) .. packets will go fast, and will back as faster
they can because you cant stop them (there aint no class for downlods
-ingress- as far i saw)...

so what about if i have a www petition? or many www petitions? yeah, the
request wil be fast (less prio) but when packet comes with bulk data wil
come really slow becuase kazaa packets will saturate all traffic..

is the solution make a new class with a 1 k rate (leting the other
clasees bound BW) and sent all "heavy download -ftp/kazaa-" to that
class?

well, i hope some guru explain this better iv tryed :)
