I have some script that 1. creates the traffic, 2. do realtime logging and 3. 
creates graphs.  You can find some of these scripts on www.docum.org.  I use 
ttcp to generate traffic (sometimes ab or ping) and the iptables counters to 
count the packets.  Classification is done on dst port.
