Subject: [LARTC] DSMARK & TC_INDEX
Date: Fri, 05 Sep 2003 10:50:28 +0000	[thread overview]

Hi Leo (may I ?) and the others,

I am reading your howto. Very clear too.
But there is one point I don't understand.
I thought that DS said : "one PHB for one DSCP" an we have a table for it
I mean if DSCP=0x30 this is AF12

So why should tc_index do that thing
( skb->tc_index & p.mask ) >> p.shift

BTW Are mask=0xfc shift=2 mandatory ?

if it is only to make another maping it seems a little bit strange.

Is it easier to map 12 with a class rather than 0x30 ???
I don't think (for a computer)

Well why isn't it : "one DSCP --> one class" ?

Thank you
Emmanuel
