hi there,
forgot one question. Which is better to use in filter -> classid to direct the traffic to the leaf-class or to
use flowid to direct it to the leaf-class-child-qdisc ?!
what is the difference ?
tia

classid = flowid. You can use both.

]- doesnt seem the same.. u can't use flowid to point to class or classid to point to qdisc ?!
The question is does it have some other implication ! say speed :"!
leaf-class <--classid
|---- qdisc <----flowid

I don't understand what you want to say, but from the tc source :
f_fw.c:
if (matches(*argv, "classid") = 0 ||
matches(*argv, "flowid") = 0) {
f_u32.c:
} else if (matches(*argv, "classid") = 0 ||
strcmp(*argv, "flowid") = 0) {
f_route.c:
} else if (matches(*argv, "classid") = 0 ||
strcmp(*argv, "flowid") = 0) {
