Thank you for pointing this project out, I had heard rumors of it, but
didn't really know what it was.

That would be great.  I have just submitted the existing hotplug
kernel/user interface to the LSB for proposal as a potential standard
that user programs can interact with.  However this looks like a whole
lot better interface for all potential user programs to be able to
accept kernel messages such as this.

I'll join the mailing list and see how D-BUS works out, at first glance,
it looks good.
