Hi!
I own also a RC440BX motherboard from Intel.
I got my sound running with the alsa drivers for linux.
I run a SUSE distribution kernel version 2.0.36.
It works just fine, downloaded the software, compiling it,
loading the modules and there it was.

Note: You must install the driver for the Ensonic PCI soundcard.
