MPEG 4 audio too perhaps ?
But MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 audio aren't really Linux specific - perhaps that
doesn't really matter ?

Yep yep ... sample media sounds for the masses, masses of sounds for the
masses.
I havn't read the book (yet) but is there a section on time code in it ?
