I'd say it is fairly easy to take an old turntable and a mouse,
and connect one of the 2 mouse sensors to the turntable. Or,
I guess this should also work: place a turntable-dish on the
step-motor of a 5 1/4 inch disk drive. I think you can get
pulses from the motor when you move it.
