The latest 2.1.121 kernel (cvs updated on 9/25/98) also has the same problem. The host is an Ultra1 170E with an NCR53C9XF, and the tape drive is an Exabyte 8mm 8505XLE. There are two SCSI disks and a SCSI CD-ROM which work fine with ultrapenguin-1.0.9, but not the SCSI tape drive. Solaris 2.6 can read and write to the tape drive without any errors. At 19:02:04, I issued an: mt -f /dev/nst0 status and the esp0 errors occured. If I try to read from the drive, then the tape drive led's stay lit and esp0 errors occur until it is rebooted.
