The CD-ROM was listed when it was scanning SCSI devices.  (It was at
target 6.)  I didn't see anything about an initrd, which confused me,
since the /etc/silo.conf has "initrd=" lines.

I have since overwritten the CD with a Red Hat "Raw Hide" CD, which I
created by virtually the same proceedure.  I may give the UltraPenguin
one another try in a few days.
