is this a known bug? tmw and fvwm2 works just fine at 16 bpp
Are you on a PCI machine with a mach64/ATI (sun calls is "PGX")
graphics card in it? If so, I've seen this before. The same will
happen if you load up a jpg file in gimp at 16 bpp, usually the X
server calls abort.
