Subject: Sun Ultra 5 mouse not working ??
Date: Thu, 14 Jan 1999 12:04:37 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <marc-linux-ultrasparc-91631573607011@msgid-missing> (raw)

I finally successfully installed UltraLinux on my Sparc Ultra 5
machine after a few bizzarre things, such as the install program not
finding a file that was visible. But anyways, X windows starts fine
with the Ati 3drage II + DVD 2mg Sdram, however the mouse does not
seem to work. I can't even move it, and I have tried numerous things :
Xconfigurator, XF86Config, editing the XF86config and manually
changing the protocol of the mouse to "sunmouse" "Auto" and a bunch of
other things, but when I use "sun" X actually starts but there is not
mouse movement, only a cursor. I also tried changing the device to
"mouse" b/c i ran mouseconfig and it found the Sun mouse and linked it
to /dev/mouse, so it is not the physical mouse that is the problem
atleast. What protocal or device do i use to get it working?.. I am
running Ultralinux 1.1, Xfree86 3.2.2 and the accelerated server
XFMach64.
thx
Charlie Ombres
