Subject: Setting up a Linux firewall behind an external ADSL modem?
Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2004 13:54:34 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <s0f68988.030@mail.toolsnottoys.com> (raw)

Hello,
How do I setup a Linux firewall behind an external ADSL modem.
For example:

ISP gave a public static IP block: example: 216.129.206.XXX/29
GATEWAY to the ISP router is: 216.138.192.XXX

The external ADSL modem is connected to the ISP successfully with pppoe.

How do I configure the public Interface eth0 on the Linux firewall?
Do you have to use a WAN interface like pppoe on the Linux box?
Could someone give me an example?

Thanks in advance.
