Where does the list archive live these days? The only pointer I could find
to it is:

ftp://ftp.linux-mips.org/pub/linux/mips/archives/linux-mips.org/linux-mips/
but I get "permission denied"

Fixed. The filesystems didn't get mounted after the last reboot ...

Off of a "sound card" subject, but is there an archive of this mailing
list, and is it searchable??

I just changed to the digest version, and in changing didn't see any
thing like either of these.

Of course, if not, could someone??

Thanks.

Wonderful idea, only problem is that my version of netscape (6.2) that
I use on this particular computer doesn't like "nntp:" URL's. I was
hoping for a web interface, which doesn't appear to be available at the
site mentioned. As for searching, ..... never mind.

Oh well..... I thought the lists might be archived at sorceforge or
something like that.

A nicer reply might be a more specific pointer, but then I'm hoping for
too much...
a look at the "lists" button yielded some stuff, then a "nntp:" URL.
Nice if you happen to have a news reader handy, and up and running...

according to the mailing-list page
(http://www.alsa-project.org/mailing-lists.php3)
the following are available:

the site refuses atm, though...

The hypermail archives on nsa.gov are only updated when we push a new
release, as noted in http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/info/list.cfm. You can
always fetch the latest archives via majordomo or can access an
unofficial archive like http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=selinux (which
is better for searching anyway than the official hypermail archives).

At http://vger.kernel.org/vger-lists.html#ceph-devel and
http://ceph.com/resources/mailing-list-irc/ it says the archive of this
mailing list is http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-systems.ceph.devel

However, public DNS servers no longer resolve dir.gmane.org.

I wonder if this has anything to do with this blog post [1] "The End of
Gmane"

Ah, here [2] it is:

"I will not be taking the web servers up again. I’m just too fed up with
all that stuff. However, it would be a real shame if all the gazillions
of Gmane links out there stopped working. So here’s what I hope somebody
could make happen:

I hand over the gmane.org domain to you. You point the MX and the “news”
A to my server."

It appears the guy was operating gmane as a free public service for 14
years and got sued, spammed, threatened, and DDoSed in return.

Luckily, gmane isn't the only mailing list archive. See eg
http://marc.info/?l=ceph-devel

I'm not sure how many *others* there are, but we're not dead yet... ;)
