I haven't been able to use ALSA on my > laptop because of this. it seems that the bug is hidden in alsa-lib handling non-interleaved data. if my guess is correct, there might be some difference between the behavior of alsa-lib and oss-emulation. unfortunately i cannot debug this further since my es1968 card is out of box...
