Subject: Changes in handling of joystick
Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2003 16:23:42 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <s5hu16buccx.wl@alsa2.suse.de> (raw)
Hi,
right now i committed the patches to change the handling of joystick.
instead of controlling the joystick via control API, the "joystick" or
"joystick_port" module options are added. yes, it is what we did in
ALSA 0.5.x series. it's back again.
this change is because configuring the joystick is a potential cause
of system freeze due to the resource confliction. (also, it's even
easier to configure :)
i wrote a brief note about the joystick support. you can find it
alsa-kernel/Documentation/Joystick.txt.
if you have a card with the joystick support and you have a joystick,
please test the new code. (well, anon.cvs will be synced in 24h.)
Takashi
