Subject: ALSA's Captcha Prevents My Participation
Date: Thu, 26 May 2005 19:30:02 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20050526233002.GC12496@rednote.net> (raw)

I would like to sign up for access to ALSA's bug tracking system, however I cannot do it because the form discriminates against people who cannot see.

The web form provided at https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/signup_page.php says (in part):

   ALSA bugtracking system

   Signup
   Username: _____
   Email:_____
Enter the code as it is shown in the box on the right: _____

The W3C's accessibility guidance for Captcha (also generically known as Turing
Tests) is at:

http://www.w3.org/TR/turingtest

An alternative sign up mechanism is needed. Who do I need to write to about this?
