ALSA does not detect the card currently and when I try to load the snd-1724 module it fails with an EEPROM error. I have tried compiling a new kernel with the subdevice id for the Prodigy 7.1 in aureon.h changed to correspond to my device (as detailed here for another card http://linux.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/comp.os.linux.hardware/2004-10/0340.html). Alsa then detects the card and I can load modules and change volumes in alsamixer but I haven't been able to produce any sound. Hopefully support will be easy to add as this card is almost exactly the same as the Prodigy 7.1 (and Aureon Space etc.) which already have support. I would be very happy to give any further information needed. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ungod - 05-08-05 00:45 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you load the snd-ice1724 module like this: 'modprobe snd-ice1724 model=prodigy71' you can force the driver to behave as if your card was a Prodigy 7.1. Anyway, I have made a small patch which should add support for Prodigy 7.1 LT to the driver. It threats the card as if it was an ordinary Prodigy 7.1 without digital-in. Simply apply the patch in the alsa-kernel directory like this: alsa-kernel$ patch -Np1 -i auroen-prodigy71lt-fix.diff ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Demosthenes - 05-08-05 17:30 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- When I try modprobe snd-ice1724 model=prodigy71 I get the same error: (syslog) May 8 16:25:05 localhost kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:06.0[A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 18 May 8 16:25:05 localhost kernel: ice1724: No matching model found for ID 0x32315441 May 8 16:25:05 localhost kernel: ice1724: Invalid EEPROM (size = 120) May 8 16:25:05 localhost kernel: ICE1724: probe of 0000:02:06.0 failed with error -5 I should like to try this patch but I cannot see it attached here?
