It is in the ALSA 1.0.10 standard release. Please ensure you are running at least this version of ALSA. As to your mic not working, I suspect that it might be a condensor microphone which requires some bias voltage from the laptop (or its own battery in some cases) in order to work. Many computer headsets fall into this category. The existing S7020 setup does not allow for this, simply because I have no use for such microphones (I use external preamps when necessary since they're much cleaner). Another user has also noticed that such microphones don't work with ALSA 1.0.10 on the S7020. I have very recently (3 days ago) submitted a patch for consideration which adds the ability to record 4 audio channels on this laptop. A portion of this patch implemented a new "jack mode" control which (among other things required for the 4 channel functionality) allows the user to turn on the mic bias for the mic/line jack if they need it. If you grab this patch and switch the "mic/line jack mode" control to "Mic 80pc bias" or "Mic 50pc bias" I suspect your mic will start working (although you'll have to turn the mic/line volume control up fairly high I suspect). I am hoping the patch will be merged soon. Otherwise grab it from alsa-devel or contact me via alsa-devel and I'll get it to you privately.
