I get no sound through the built in speakers, however, when I plug a set of headphones into the headphone jack, I get sound. The built in speaker works, I've tested it through Windows. Also, recording doesn't work with either the internal mic or one plugged into the mic jack. I am using kernel 2.6.1 (but have tried everything back to 2.6.0) (I have also tried several different combinations in the alsamixer application without success) Upon compiling the drivers and libs I got no complaints.
